Banda Aceh (Antaranews Aceh) - Aceh lifters -- Surahmat and Nurul Akmal -- are determined and ready to win medals for Indonesia`s "Red and White" contingent at the 18th Asian Games in Palembang and Jakarta on August 18-September 2, 2018.
Indonesian Weightlifting and Bodybuilding Association Regional Chairman Rayuan Sukma remarked here on Friday that the two lifters are currently focused on facing matches in the Asian Games.
Sukma, who claims to have communicated with Nurul and Surahmat almost every week, noted that the achievements of the two weightlifters from Aceh continue to improve ahead of the Asian Games competition.
"Our two athletes said they were ready to compete and deliver the best performance," he remarked, adding that mental, physical, and technical skills of Surahmat and Nurul had significantly increased during their participation in the National Training Camp (Pelatnas) at the Marine Headquarters in Jakarta.
Hence, the two lifters have a high likelihood of winning gold medals in the multi-sport event of the Asian countries.
Sukma explained that Nurul was expected to win a gold medal, as the Pelatnas executive training team had noticed a significant improvement in the Aceh female lifter`s record.
Moreover, Nurul`s record has increased as compared to the improvement shown by lifters from several countries that will compete in the Asian Games later.
