Subulussalam, Aceh (Antaranews Aceh) - A fire razed 11 shops in the vicinity of Subulussalam integrated terminal in the westernmost Indonesian province of Aceh early Sunday, causing about Rp1 billion in losses.
"The fire, which burned 10 shops at the terminal broke out at 00.30 a.m. local time," Chief of the Aceh Singkil District Police Adj Snr Comsr Ian Rizkian Miliardin Sik said on Sunday.
Three fire trucks were deployed to the scene and the blaze could be extinguished at 02.35 a.m. with the help of local residents, he said.
The fire burned almost all contents of the shops, causing an estimated Rp1 billion in material losses, he said.
No injuries or fatalities were reported.
The police are still looking into the cause of the fire.
Most of the shops sold basic necessities, clothes, foods, souvenirs and gold jewelries.
