"The increase shows sustainable positive growth. We will continue to improve services for the passengers," Citilink Indonesia President Director Juliandra Nurtjahjo said in a press statement on Friday.
The increase in the number of passengers was connected to the airline`s efforts to improve its on-time performance (OTP) rate, he noted.
"The increase in the number of passengers is linked to the OTP rate, which reached 82.77 percent in 2017," he stated.
He said the number of Citilink passengers rose significantly in the past five years. The number of passengers rose to 5.3 million in 2013 from 2.8 million in 2012, rising further to 8.2 million in 2014, 9.5 million in 2015, and 11.8 million in 2016.
"The achievement is inseparable from the strategy of the airline company to target the millennial generation, focusing on a unique experience. The other strategy is improving services for passengers before, during, and after the flight," he added.
Citilink Indonesia, which operates 50 Airbus A320 planes, currently serves 65 flight routes.
